The Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 is a cruiser style motorcycle. The Vulcan name has been used for custom or cruiser motorcycles since 1984, model designation VN, using mostly V-twin engines ranging from 125 to 2,053 cc (7.6 to 125.3 cu in).

General information about the 2000 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Drifter

The heart of the 2000 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Drifter is its 89.7-cubic inch fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, SOHC V-twin engine. The engine is rubber-mounted and has a gear-driven engine balancer to smooth the vibrations –well enough to allow the use of a single-pin crank, which helps it produce a distinct V-twin rumble.

The cruiser’s look is long and low, which is exactly how its chassis is designed. It has a 29.1-inch seat height and 302 kg/ 668 lbs dry weight. A 41mm cartridge fork, dual air-assisted shock absorbers with a 4-way rebound damping adjustable front and rear suspension system add up to a comfortable ride.

The speedometer, fuel gauge, and warning lamps are located on a center console atop the wide 5.0-gallon fuel tank. Mated to a five-speed transmission, with shaft final drive, digital fuel injection with dual 36mm throttle bodies, digital ignition, electric starting, 64 hp / 46.7 kW @ 4700 rpm max power and 112 Nm / 82.6 lb-ft @ 3000 rpm max torque.
