General information about the 2000 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Nomad FI

With great ergonomics, a counter balancer-smoothed engine, a very comfortable saddle, an effective, adjustable windshield, and uniquely styled and capacious saddlebags, the Nomad proved to be a wonderful companion on the open road. The 90 cubic-inch V-twin engine with digital fuel injection is tuned for greater low-end torque, increased power, smoother operation, and significantly better fuel economy for greater cruising range.

New pistons bump up compression from 8.6:1 to 9.0:1 for more power, the piston pin offset was reduced to make the engine even quieter, new cam timing increased power from the mid-range to the top-end, cartridge fork provides more damping control, dual piston rear brake caliper, new rear brake pedal is positioned at a flatter angle and is lower for a more comfortable braking operation and new front brake pads.

All fuel-injected Nomad now has a catalyzer in the pre-muffler, which allows the engineers to tune the engine for maximum performance while meeting all emission requirements. New stainless steel windshield hardware, 12V-18Ah battery, multi-plane reflector headlight, LED warning light signals low-fuel; fuel petcock is eliminated and a new speedometer face is black with off-white numerals.
