The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is a sportbike in the Ninja series, the successor to the Ninja ZX-9R. Originally released in 2004 and has been updated and revised throughout the years. Engineers used a stacked design for a liquid-cooled, 998 cc (60.9 cu in) inline four-cylinder engine.

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R crankshaft axis, input shaft, and output shaft are positioned in a triangular layout to reduce engine length, while the high-speed generator is placed behind the cylinder bank to reduce engine width.

General information about the 2004 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R

The Ninja ZX-10R design started with chassis simulations. An all-aluminum frame with 600-class dimensions mated to a long and highly rigid gull swing-arm gives the ZX-10R category-leading handling performance on track and twisty roads.

The powerful compact new In-Line Four is a showcase of advanced supersport technology. Other engine features include a new fuel injection system, a close-ratio transmission with a back-torque limiter clutch, and magnesium engine covers. The 10R puts the rider in a position to take full advantage of the engine’s awesome power and the superb chassis response.

With 184 ram,-air assisted horsepower available at the crank, the same treatment was necessary with the throttle. The ZX-10 makes the 2.2-mile (3.54km) circuit seem like a go-kart track. The bike is fast and simply annihilates the straights. It’s engine keeps on pulling, getting progressively more powerful until it hits redline at 13,000rpm.
