This is the maintenance schedule with associated service intervals for the 2007-2008 Kawasaki Z1000.

The Kawasaki Z1000 is a four-cylinder motorcycle introduced in 2003 with streetfighter or standard styling. It used a modified engine from the ZX-9R and was bored out by 2.2 mm resulting in bigger displacement, more low-RPM torque, and only a slight power loss of 4 bhp from the original ZX9.

This maintenance schedule applies to the following models:

  • 2007 Kawasaki Z1000
  • 2008 Kawasaki Z1000

In October 2009, Kawasaki unveiled the 2010 Z1000. It had a new aluminum frame, digital instrument panel, bodywork, and engine. Bore and stroke are 77 x 56 mm, 1 mm more than the ZX-10R’s 76 x 55 mm displacing 1,043 cc. up from the previous model’s 953 cc. The compression ratio is 11.8:1, and fuel injection is handled by a bank of 38-mm Keihin throttle bodies.

General information about the 2007-2008 Kawasaki Z1000

The Z1000 backs this aggressive, super naked style with an in-line four-cylinder, DOHC 16-valve engine, which produces tractable power for hard acceleration in any rpm range. The lightweight, all-aluminum cylinder block, with chrome composite plated lining for wear resistance and superior heat dispersion are features borrowed from the Kawasaki NINJA® sportbike line.

Digital fuel injection utilizing 38mm throttle bodies and sub-throttle valves promote smooth, responsive engine operation with less fuel consumption. The high-speed 32-bit digital ignition provides precise engine management and enhances the fuel injection system. Keeping the entire engine cool is a large-area radiator with an electric fan that maintains operating temperatures at the optimum level.

Simultaneously, a liquid-cooled oil cooler helps keep the six-speed transmission operating at maximum performance. Part of the Z1000’s allure lies in the four stainless steel mufflers that are heat-treated to an attractive golden color. Enhancing its appeal is the Kawasaki Low Exhaust Emissions (KLEEN®) catalyzer system that helps keep exhaust emissions that flow through the quad mufflers environmentally friendly.
