Regular maintenance for the 2014 Ducati Monster 1200

This is maintenance that you can do yourself (though the manual says you need a dealer to do it).

Every 600 miles or 1000 kms OR 6 months (whichever is earlier), perform the following maintenance:

Check engine oil level
Check brake fluid level
Check tyre pressure and wear
Check the drive chain tension and lubrication
Check brake pads. If necessary, contact your dealer to replace pads

List of operations with type of intervention (distance or time interval – whichever occurs first).

This maintenance schedule is in the same format as in the manual, though if it were me I’d re-order it a bit.

The m0st important part — the service interval of the Ducati Monster 1200 are HUGE compared to its predecessor.

You only have to check/adjust the valve clearance every 30,000 kms, and you only have to change the timing belts at the same interval – or every five years. MASSIVE. This will save you thousands and is worth the price difference on its own.
